TEX MB – Portuguese Brand of handcrafted works in macramé for interior design arrives on the market
TEX MB is a project created by Marta Barros in 2016 that makes handmade works for interior design.
In her works, Marta intends to preserve the art of macrame and bring it to modernity, adding design, functionality and authenticity.
Macrame is the technique of interlacing ropes to create knots that, when tied together, form decorative patterns. It is an art that does not use any kind of machine, resulting in a completely manual work. In her pieces, Marta uses 100% cotton rope manufactured in Portugal. Other materials are also used, aiming for a somewhat natural origin.
Potholders and wall tapestries are the most common decorative pieces when it comes to macramé, but Marta Barros believes that there is a lot of potential in this technique that can still be explored to create decorative alternatives. The option of tailor-made pieces is also available, aiming to offer the customer an exclusive macrame, specially made to fit his needs.
TEX MB aesthetic is defined by a preference for neutral tones and the search for quality achieved through the imperfection of handwork, which makes the pieces unique and special.
